European Markets Close Lower; Dax Down 0.65%

Forex Pros – European stocks were down after the closing bell on Friday.

At the close of European trade, Germany’s DAX fell 0.65%, London’s FTSE 100 shed 0.24%, France’s CAC 40 declined 1.00% and the EURO STOXX 50 was down 0.68%.

Earlier in the day, official data showed that U.S. non-farm payrolls rose more-than-expected to a seasonally adjusted 192.00K last month, from 63.00K in the preceding month whose figure was revised up from 36.00K.

Analysts had expected U.S. non-farm payrolls to rise 180.00K last month.

Meanwhile, on Wall Street, equity markets were down after the open. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 1.31%; the S&P 500 index shed 1.26%, while the Nasdaq 100 index declined 0.92%.
