Amazon, eBay and Craig’s List for Used Apple iPhone, iPod, Laptops, Tablets

As the popularity of smartphones as mobile computers increases and prices remain relatively high, the market for used devices is growing quickly.

A look on eBay at unlocked Apple IPhone 3G 8GB shows the phone is to be had for $295.00 if you go for the buy-it-now offer. There is a 32GB 3GS for $299. Used AT&T iPhones are also going on sale as some users try to get out of their current phones and move to Verizon.

Amazon.com is also in the act with thousands of used unlocked phones for sale at significant discounts off of original retail prices. With the general high quality and long lifespan of Apple products, the used option is not much of a risk.

Craig’s List local classified sites are also a good option for locating pre-owned iPhones or iPod’s. Local sellers provide the opportunity to go see and handle the device without having to rely on the mail system and be dependent on on-line photos and info.

Used phones are especially popular overseas where the ratio of phones to people is sometimes greater than it is in the west. Large numbers of pre-owned phones are imported by 2nd and 3rd world countries everyday where the average wage cannot support the price of many of the new, expensive phones.
